Erin and Matt’s wedding at Curtis Arboretum had no shortage of personality or beautiful details. Everything came together so beautifully, from the setting to the smallest details. And then, of course, there were Erin and Matt, who brought plenty of humor and personality to the day.

There are days where it feels like the universe hands you a little win, and Julie and Suri’s Rittenhouse engagement session was one of those days. We had already wandered through the city, finding beautiful corners and making the most of Philadelphia before the skies opened up. The rain came down fast, and we ducked into a doorway while I figured out our next move. I was worried we were overstaying our welcome, but I was also pretty concerned about Julie’s hair, haha.

Hotel Du Pont really knows how to set a scene. The ornate architecture, chandeliers, and gilded romantic interiors have that old-world glamour that makes the whole place feel like it belongs to another era. Vanessa and Collin fit right in. Vanessa’s dress had a touch of 1920s glamour to it and looked incredible against the historic interiors. Champagne-colored bridesmaid dresses and simple white florals carried that look through while the venue shined. We took full advantage of the interiors for portraits, and Vanessa and Collin nailed it. They were natural, their look was elevated, and everything picked up the light just right.

There’s a lot to love about Jeremy and Eric’s wedding at Morris Arboretum, but the handmade details deserve some special attention. One of the grooms’ sisters created beautiful cyanotype ceremony decor and dresses for the occasion. Cyanotypes use sunlight to create deep blue botanical prints, which felt particularly fitting for a spring wedding surrounded by the gardens and woodlands of Morris Arboretum. We love seeing family members bring their own creativity into a wedding, especially when the results are this good.

We’ve been finding our way back to film lately, and it feels really natural. It’s actually where Dutch and I both started. We met in a darkroom years ago, learning how to see light through film before anything else. But when it came to weddings, we kept it separate for a long time. Digital made more sense for the pace of a full day, and film stayed something we did for ourselves.

Harris and Olivia’s late winter wedding was one we had circled on the calendar for a while. Ever since their engagement session, we knew it was going to be a good one. By the time the wedding day rolled around, we were ready. They kept things true to themselves the whole way through. First look and private vows outside in the cemetery behind the church. Quiet, a little unexpected, and honestly kind of perfect. These two lean into what they love, and we’re always here for that.

Gabrielle and Scott’s session felt easy right from the start. We met them in Rittenhouse Square, and within a few minutes it was clear we weren’t going to need to do much. They just clicked. Gabrielle wore this off-the-shoulder white dress that was beautiful and classic. After their first look, we headed into Old City for portraits, bouncing between spots like Elfreth’s Alley and Race Street Pier. There’s one photo of them standing in front of a simple beige wall that we keep going back to. We wandered through the vineyard, caught the last of the light, and ended on the lawn by the cottage with a bottle of bubbly. It was relaxed, natural, and really let the setting do its thing. The ceremony and reception were both at Irwin’s, the bar and restaurant on Bok’s rooftop. It’s a swanky space with a bit of edge, and it matched them perfectly. A small group of Philadelphia’s funkiest gathered as the sun dropped behind the skyline. Drinks flowing, good music, that warm rooftop light doing its thing. It felt relaxed but still elevated, like everyone knew exactly why they were there.

Haley and Jonah’s wedding at the Fairmount Park Horticultural Center was a day we’ll return to often. Not because it was over the top or complicated, but because it felt right. The Hort does that. It lets a wedding unfold without battling the elements or the light. The greenhouse creates a kind of diffused sun that wraps around portraits. The gardens offer variety. It’s structured, but not rigid. Lush, but not overwhelming.
