Ray and Fariha’s wedding weekend felt like a perfect blend of style, culture, and just genuinely enjoying your people. They started the day at The Gas Lamp Hotel, which we’ll always vouch for as one of our favorite getting ready spots in the city. The wallpaper alone is worth it, but the tucked away courtyard really seals it. Naturally, that’s where Ray and Fariha chose to have their first look and private vows. It felt calm and intentional, a nice pause before the rest of the day picked up.
Fariha… truly unreal. Her look was all red and gold, with intricate beading and detailed patterns woven throughout both her dress and headpiece. And when the light hit it just right? It picked up every texture, every bit of gold, and gave her face this soft glow. It felt rich and dimensional in person and translated just as beautifully on camera.
After their first look, we headed into Old City for portraits, bouncing between spots like Elfreth’s Alley and Race Street Pier. There’s one photo of them standing in front of a simple beige wall that we keep going back to. It sounds like nothing, but the shadows, the tones, and the way they fit together in the frame made it one of our favorites from the whole day. One of those images even made it onto our homepage!
Also worth mentioning, we’ve been easing film photography back into our wedding work lately, and their film scans came back so, so good.
They wrapped things up with a reception at Power Plant Productions, which always brings a cool industrial backdrop. The next day, they hosted a luncheon at Bridgewater Marriott with a red and white ornate backdrop, lounge furniture, and some really beautiful florals. A quieter close to a really full weekend, and a chance to keep the celebration going just a little longer.
