Hotel Du Pont really knows how to set a scene. The ornate architecture, chandeliers, and gilded romantic interiors have that old-world glamour that makes the whole place feel like it belongs to another era. Vanessa and Collin fit right in. Vanessa’s dress had a touch of 1920s glamour to it and looked incredible against the historic interiors. Champagne-colored bridesmaid dresses and simple white florals carried that look through while the venue shined. We took full advantage of the interiors for portraits, and Vanessa and Collin nailed it. They were natural, their look was elevated, and everything picked up the light just right.
I actually met Vanessa over five years ago when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I was photographing. And then another and then another: friend, a roommate, a cousin, a birthday party. Vanessa and Collin were everywhere! A good thing since we adore them and all their friends.. After celebrating so many friend’s unions with these two, we were thrilled to finally raise a glass to them!
Our favorite part of the day was easily the ceremony. Instead of the traditional setup with rows of chairs stretching toward the back of the room, Vanessa and Collin stood right in the center with their guests seated in a full circle around them. No one was tucked away in the last row, no one was wondering what was being said, and the two of them could look around and see the smiling faces of everyone they invited. It made the whole ceremony feel incredibly personal and connected. A full circle of white florals surrounded them, with more flowers gathered at the base and that massive chandelier hanging directly overhead. Between the flowers, the architecture, and everyone gathered around them, the whole thing felt elegant and almost transportive.
That look carried right into the reception, where chandeliers hung from soaring ceilings and the walls were covered in arches, molding, and all of those beautiful architectural details Hotel Du Pont is known for. It was the perfect backdrop for a wedding that leaned into vintage glamour while still feeling completely like Vanessa and Collin. We photographed and filmed this one, so stay tuned for their wedding video too.
