A heavy sky loomed over the Mallard Island Yacht Club when we arrived to begin documenting Jenn and Marc’s day. I would have never guessed the weather was stormy when you entered the room with Jenn and her sisters and friends. And really, that’s how it should be. You are marrying the person you want […]
Besides an elopement we photographed with just the bride and groom, Rachel and Bill’s was the smallest, most intimate wedding we’ve ever photographed. It was delightful. Close family and a handful of friends, 16 in total. Just enough to fill the upstairs table at Vetri. Yes, Vetri. They did it right. Perhaps the best dinner […]
Dodged the storm with this lovely couple in Old City, Independence Park and Race Street Pier. We’re looking forward to Lesley and Nate’s wedding this fall!
A cheese cake, ladies and gentlemen. No, not cheesecake. We are literally talking about a tower of cheese. And since Eric is a chef and built the cake himself, you can imagine he used some deliciously stinky cheese, too. It was divine. Love this wedding, these two people, this whole group of friends and family. […]
It’s kind of crazy how many people who contact us end up living only a few streets away from us. It’s like Queen Village is the epicenter of people getting married in Philly. It’s a great way to get to know your neighbors and we couldn’t be happier to have met Emily & Ty.
We can’t get enough of this garden wedding. Terrain is so charming and as for Larissa and Eric, well, they’re just about as cute as you can find. They’re also our neighbors, our friends, and dog park buddies…we actually met through Doc and Leo, woof woof.
Every winter, Dutch and I take off on a backpacking adventure somewhere exotic and challenging. This winter, we took on a new challenge and we’re loving every minute with this little guy. Here is Dane Cassidy Huff.
Larissa pulled up wearing her mother’s wedding dress, a leather moto jacket, a big grin, and happy sad tears. Her mamma would have been so proud. Heart of gold, this girl. We have so many beautiful pictures of her and Eric’s Terrain wedding to share, but on Mother’s Day, I just had to post this […]
Jenn and Marc’s wedding was just as heartfelt and lovely as we knew it would be. The ceremony was my favorite part, located in the boathouse just a short path from Mallard Island Yacht Club. Huge stone fireplace adorned with bright spring flowers, large windows, and open air sides… all elements for beautiful pictures, particularly […]
Sneak peek of Jenn + Marc’s rainy/sunny/rainy wedding where the clouds parted just when it counted. And thank you for that.
Grier and Jonathan’s wedding featured elegant ivory, gold, and crimson details, and a beautiful interior lined with candles at the Hotel du Pont . A perfect mood set for the cold wintery night. The Knot asked if they could share this modern wedding in the latest Pennsylvania & Delaware issue, check it out! To see their […]
Introducing Kate and Ben. We knew we’d get along with these two just fine because of where they’re getting married – a place we’ve been waiting and waiting to shoot in, the cool and creepy College of Physicians in Philadelphia. Truly a gem of a place and the home of the Mutter Museum. Where else […]
Back at Congress Hall for another winter Super 8mm wedding. And yet again, another gorgeous and unseasonably warm day to film. This time I’m filming Justine and Daniel, a fun-time, travel-bound couple living in Brooklyn and getting married in Justine’s hometown, Cape May. I have many things in common with these two…the first being a […]
I shot this wedding 39.5 weeks pregnant and couldn’t have asked for a sweeter family to be documenting at such a time. Dutch was shooting Super8 film on this one (see in previous post) and we had our trusty sidekick Hieu and our Associate photographer Matt shooting alongside (doubled up just in case I went […]
A candlelit, romantic winter wedding ceremony at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center and a wild, rollicking reception afterwards. This was a great one…
I’d be willing to bet that when Kaitlyn and Brad met one of the two was dancing. More specifically, spinning while dancing. They’re both so good at it. Just watch the film and see how anyone who hangs out with either one of them ends up spinning. Kids can’t stop spinning. Even Kaitlyn’s dress spins […]
We were both excited and nervous for Katie and Charlie’s wedding. Not for the obvious reasons that usually go along with shooting a wedding – not missing a moment, keeping everyone on schedule, traffic, etc. But mainly because Julie was due to deliver our first baby anytime around that weekend. So you could say there […]
Nana Betty is at it again! We were thrilled that The Knot chose one of Sweetwater’s weddings as the Top 9 Viral Weddings of 2015. In case you missed it, our bride Christine asked her 89-year old grandmother, Nana Betty, to be her bridesmaid. Soon after we posted the pictures of her fun-loving grandma looking […]
I love when we start a relationship with a new client so easily. Rosemary’s parents live a block away and I was chatting with her dad one day in the dog park about a wedding we’d just photographed and he said, hey, my daughter’s getting married! And there you have it. We then met Rosemary […]
The Brits felt right at home at Catherine and Dan’s Appleford Estate wedding with the lush gardens and damp rainy weather. They played up the American/British marriage with flags, traditional fruit cake (made by Catherine’s mom), whiskey bar, Rolls Royce and of course, big beautiful hats and fascinators. Perfectly executed, the Queen would be proud. […]
