A wedding at Grace Winery is always special with the lush vineyards, stone barn, and gorgeous amphitheater. But Katrina and Colin’s wedding was different. Their vows more potent, their gaze more intense. I suppose the entire wedding day felt almost surreal to them after the trials they had endured to get here. When you see Colin’s face when Katrina walks down the aisle is says everything. It’s probably my favorite moment from the entire day.
Katrina suffered through a year of brain surgeries leading up to the wedding. I say Katrina suffered, but we know Colin suffered by right by her side. I tell more of their story here, but even better, watch the film we made at their wedding and listen to Colin’s speech. That’s love. That’s a love story that didn’t need any special effects or crafty editing. Katrina and Colin held fast and strong to each other through an incredible ordeal and came out on the other side of it deeper in love, more mature, and ready to begin their new life together. Healthy and happy.
It rained on Katrina and Colin’s wedding day and it didn’t phase them a bit. We were driving away from the church, St Thomas of Villanova, en route to Grace Winery when we spotted a huge tree with an almost unbelievable hollow that was bone dry. It was perfect for taking photos. Sometimes it’s the serendipitous moments that make the best photos, the unplanned stops, the surprises.
See their beautiful film of their story here.
