Combine a lovely historic mansion, a ceremony site overlooking the Delaware River, and a pretty wrap-around porch and you’ve got the perfect outdoor wedding venue. Glen Foerd Mansion is just near enough to Philadelphia to be convenient, but far enough to feel like you’re out in the country. We love this venue because it’s grand, yet welcoming; impressive, yet intimate. The opportunities for photography are endless. We actually photographed two weddings here, two weekends in a row and they both looked so different. It was really nice to have so many options so that we could explore areas based on where the light was best and where best fit the style of the couple.
Tasha and Kevin’s wedding was one that we were looking forward to all year. Besides our love for outdoor garden weddings, we really love this couple and their family. We met Kevin ten years ago when he was a groomsmen in his brother’s wedding that we photographed! It was just after we’d moved to Philadelphia and started Sweetwater. Since that time, we’ve seen them all again and again (and meeting Tasha in the process) over the years as we’ve photographed different family member’s or friend’s weddings.
Their Glen Foerd Mansion wedding was even more beautiful and fun than we expected. We had a really awesome team of people working around us (including Kevin’s aunt Debbie on florals who we know from photographing her daughter’s wedding!) and that makes all the difference in the world. Romantic tones of blush and ivory dominated the days with plenty of greenery. Their ceremony was held on the lawn, right on the shore of the Delaware River. We wish Tasha and Kevin all the love in the world. Thanks for carrying on the tradition and letting us document your wedding!
This is Tasha’s mother’s tea ceremony dress from her own weddings. It was so beautiful and in perfect condition. Her mother chose an unconventional blue dress and Tasha loved it just as much as her mom did for her own wedding. She looks stunning in it.
The bridal suite in Glen Foerd is one of our favorites. Huge windows, plenty of light, and a romantic flair from yesteryear.
Love this shot of Kevin that Dutch took. It’s looks like a painting that would be in the mansion!
These adorable ring bearer’s parents (with them) were our first Ebert family wedding!
I love when a family can get silly and just enjoy getting their photos taken together.
Tasha and Kevin shared their personalized vows with one another before the ceremony to get some tears out of the way. I’m not sure it helped with the tear factor (there were plenty of those to go around during the ceremony, too!) but it was definitely a sweet moment and a way to let them both soak in what the other had written.
Tasha the chameleon!
While Tasha was getting dressed, Kevin was cajoled into proving his love for Tasha through pain, embarrassment, and just general silliness. He devotion was approved! This tented reception is a fairly recent addition to Glen Foerd Mansion, it sits right beside the river and they have a fire with s’mores outside, too.
