Summer garden wedding with bright florals and vintage touches

Matt and Alissa’s summer wedding at the Curtis Arboretum in Philadelphia was a goodie. The estate, which is a renaissance revival, and its expansive 45-acre arboretum, offers a stunning mix of historic charm and lush, natural beauty. The vibe was timeless yet modern, just like the couple. Alissa’s bridal look was chic and daring —she rocked a gown with a thigh-high slit, showing off her amazing legs, and topped it off with pastel blue Manolo Blahnik heels that added a playful pop of color. It was fabulous.

Before heading to Curtis Arboretum, Matt and Alissa took some time to snap wedding portraits at the Merchant Exchange at Independent Park in Olde City, Philadelphia. It was misty and slightly overcast, but the soft rain only added to the romantic feel. Far from dampening their spirits, the rain seemed to bring an extra bit of charm to the shoot. Matt and Alissa embraced the moment, laughing and staying light-hearted even as the drizzle fell.

By the time cocktail hour rolled around (one of our favorite parts of a Curtis Arboretum wedding), the clouds parted, and the sun made an appearance, casting a warm glow over the garden. At every turn we were amazed at Gina Sole’s creativity and cohesive design. The outdoor space was brimming with color, from bright floral arrangements to cheerful table decor, adding a vibrant, upbeat energy. Guests mingled with drinks in hand, taking in the view of the blooming garden and the arboretum’s greenery.

For the reception, everyone gathered in an open-sided tent that overlooked the arboretum. Matt and Alissa’s personalities shone through in every detail. That being said, I think our favorite might have been the Polaroids of their travels sprinkled throughout the tablescapes. Whether they were cracking each other up on the dance floor or playfully interacting with guests, it was clear that they were having the time of their lives. This wedding was a perfect reflection of their playful, easygoing vibe—modern yet timeless, full of color, and bursting with joy.
