A wedding at Hollyhedge Estate feels a little like you’re in the English countryside. Standing in the stone courtyard surrounded by ivy-covered walls, walking by the fountain and the boxwood-lined path down to the pond. A historic manor house is tucked cozily into the woods and a nice meadow opens up below. If the weather had been a bit drearier it would have been very easy to forget we were in Bucks County and not Somerset. It’s a very pretty place and one of our favorites for an outdoor ceremony. But what made it really spectacular to photograph here this time was the addition of Jessica in her dress. This dress! Oh my, she looked stunning (not to overlook Patrick who looked incredibly dapper in his tux). But with the light falling through the window in the stone barn on the back of her Amsale dress it was perfection.
The other great part of this wedding was that we had actually met Jessica a couple years ago when she was a bridesmaid in Liz and Tom’s wedding. So we not only did we already know Jessica, Pat, Liz and Tom, we also knew almost all of the bridesmaids who were also in Liz’s wedding. Such a fun way to start the day! It’s one of our favorite parts of photographing; getting to catch up with our couples at their friend’s weddings, photographing them as their family grows, and simply running into them on the streets of Philadelphia or in the woods of the Wissahickon (this happens all the time!). We spend so much time with our couples and are so personally happy for them when they say their vows, it’s a wonderful thing to be able to keep in touch.
And with that, meet Jessica and Pat….
