I knew this was going to be fun the first time I met Nora and Patrick; Patrick started talking about how he’d like some kind of creepy picture in the cemetery at Aldie Mansion after their wedding. I was intrigued. I am a huge fan of photographs that have a dark surrealism to them so in my mind I was imagining some Arthur Tress photo or Diane Arbus. But more importantly, I was impressed that Nora was not shooting him death glares. Cemeteries didn’t seem particularly high on her list, but she seemed totally content to let Patrick voice his desires and she’d voice hers and it’d all come together in a really, really cool wedding day.
And it did. Now, don’t get too excited because the cemetery didn’t make an appearance on the blog…it turned out to be a very tiny pet cemetery so it was more peculiar than surreal. But the point is, it was wonderful to see two people so completely happy with one another that not even planning a wedding could upset that.
A few people that made this day great: Nancy Matthews did a lovely job with the flowers and Jeffrey Miller Catering with delicious food and even a hot made-to-order donut bar!
