The session started at P.J. Clarke’s in Old City, martinis in hand and smiles locked in. The jukebox and cozy booth moments brought a cinematic rhythm to the gallery, followed by a walk through Philly’s streets where the city did the heavy lifting. Cobblestones, crosswalks, and classic Old City architecture layered the story without overpowering it. The stop at the movie theater brings in a playful chapter at the concessions stand. And truly, Elle + Andrey + a bag of popcorn = magic. It just works. The photos feel nostalgic, cinematic, and cool. These became some of our favorite engagement frames of the year.

This pair’s engagement session in South Philly was funky but elevated. We started the afternoon at Grace & Proper, a neighborhood favorite with big windows, bold tile, and a reputation for being shoulder-to-shoulder by 5pm. We timed it before the crowd filled the bar, which meant we could tuck into a quiet corner and let the space feel like a cozy backdrop. They were silly, sharp, and very themselves.

Bars, restaurants. and coffee shops give us built-in atmosphere: texture, lighting, color, and life. They also let you feel at ease. Instead of standing in front of a grand building, wondering what to do with your hands, you get to just be. Be in your city, be in love, and let us handle the rest. For us as Philadelphia wedding photographers, these spaces tell your story in the most natural way possible — no extra staging needed.
