Funky and elevated engagement photos by the 9th Street Italian Market in South Philly
We started the afternoon at Grace & Proper, a neighborhood favorite with big windows, bold tile, and a reputation for being shoulder-to-shoulder by 5 pm. We timed it before the crowd filled the bar, which meant we could tuck into a quiet corner and let the space feel like a cozy backdrop. They were silly, sharp, and very themselves.
From there, we walked through the Italian Market. Fall was already doing its thing. Warm colors, busy produce stands, hand-painted signs, scooters parked at odd angles. Oliva and Harris slipped into the rhythm of the street effortlessly. We didn’t choreograph much. We just followed. We paused when the scenery pulled us in, and the light asked us to. We kept walking when the streets urged us forward.
We ended at their apartment, the true home base. Kilo the cat greeted us first. Then Dory the dog, tail wagging and ready for her close-up. The space was full of art, plants, thrifted lamps, and a cat tower fit for royalty. The photos felt like an afternoon lived in real time. Like following a normal day in their lives. Their March wedding is approaching fast, and we can’t wait. If the engagement session is a preview, the main event is going to be a very good story.
