Some families just feel like home. We’ve been photographing Katie and Ryan since their engagement days, and now we get to watch their kids grow up one fall at a time. They usually wait a year between sessions, enough time to notice how much taller everyone’s gotten, how much more confident the little ones have become. These family photo sessions in Philadelphia always seem to land on days when the light shows off a little, soft and golden like it’s in on the tradition too.
The kids have these bright blue eyes they clearly got from their parents, and every year the family wears just enough blue to bring them out. It’s subtle and sweet and totally them. We wandered through the leaves, let the kids take the lead, and soaked up the kind of moments that don’t need posing. Being a family photographer in Philadelphia, sessions like these are the good stuff—quiet, familiar, and full cute kiddo moments.
