Some weddings just have a certain magic to them, and Maria and David’s was exactly that. Maria was all smiles from the second we walked in. She was constantly laughing, constantly radiant. Julie led the photo team while Dutch worked his Super 8 magic, which felt especially meaningful since he had filmed David’s sister’s wedding on Super 8 nearly a decade ago. Bringing it full circle for the family was an honor.

Once everyone was dressed and hyped up, we made our way to the Merchant Exchange for portraits. Classic Philly, classic elegance. The energy from the bridal party was next-level. They had zero interest in being overly posed or serious; just a lot of inside jokes, real laughs, and Maria and David looking ridiculously happy. Then it was off to the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia for the ceremony, which was as beautiful as you’d expect. But let’s be honest, the real VIPs were the flower girl and ring bearer. Peak cuteness. Slightly unpredictable. Exactly what you want in tiny humans walking down the aisle.

And then… the reception at The Lucy. Look, we’ve seen a lot of great wedding moments, but David’s great aunt is legendary. Her blessing started out sweet enough, but within seconds, she had the entire room (guests, pastor, bride, groom, us) absolutely losing it. And if you thought she was done there, you’d be wrong. Because later, when the dance floor was fully packed, she was out there with the light sticks, casually bopping people on the head like some kind of chaotic wedding fairy. Absolute icon behavior.

We love a wedding where no one takes themselves too seriously, where every moment feels real and unfiltered. That was Maria and David’s day from start to finish. Pure happiness, surrounded by people who adore them. And we were lucky enough to be there, cameras rolling, making sure they’ll have every laugh, every wild dance move, and every light-stick bonk to look back on forever.
