Autumn and Viraj’s engagement session was the kind that just felt easy—like a slow Sunday stroll with your favorite people. We started at their place in South Philly, up on their rooftop deck. Thankfully, the weather showed up for us. There’s something about photographing people in their own space that just feels right. There is zero pressure, just them, in their element. Their dog made a guest appearance, which automatically made everything ten times better.
From there, we took to the streets with no real plan, which, in our opinion, is the best way to do it. South Philly is full of little surprises—colorful murals tucked into alleys, lively bars that welcome a quick stop-in, and blocks that just hum with energy. We wandered, laughed, and made space for those spontaneous moments that always end up being the favorites. A quick stop outside Vanilya Bakery, a spot these two love, added a personal touch (and made us all crave something sweet).
The session wrapped up the way all good things should—with a cold beer in hand. Autumn and Viraj sat just enjoying the wonderful afternoon. And honestly? That’s the kind of energy we love the most.
Dutch and I might be slightly biased toward South Philly engagement sessions, considering it is our neighborhood! When Autumn and Viraj suggested we do their photos here, we were extremely excited. They felt so much more comfortable in their pocket of the world. Whether it be South Philly or another neighborhood, we always love capturing a couple in places that feel natural to them. So feel free to bring us somewhere new!
