Devon and Loden’s wedding at Bok in South Philly was unreal. Part of their wedding stationary read “Weird Together Forever” and, I mean this is the best way possible, I don’t think a phrase could more accurately describe this couple. Their creative energy is unmatched and boy, do they love each other. These two are so unwaveringly supportive and caring, accepting and embracing every aspect of each other. They are a couple you really feel lucky to be around.
If you’ve never been to Bok, it’s this incredible old school building repurposed into a creative hub for artists, makers, and nonprofits. It also doubles as one of the coolest wedding venues in the city, offering spaces like the rooftop terrace (killer skyline views, by the way) and the retro auditorium. Devon and Loden chose the auditorium for their ceremony, and it was like stepping into a vintage theater, complete with a hand-painted backdrop that looked like an old-school stage curtain. The vibes? Quirky, fun, and totally them.
Devon was a showstopper in her strapless white dress and these absolutely insane purple platform heels that everyone was talking about. Loden kept it cool, and their wedding party brought the energy with hot pink bridesmaid dresses and deep forest green suits for the grooms group. The groom’s mom, Thedra, took care of all the florals and event design—and let me tell you, she nailed it. The decor was this eclectic mix of jewel tones, neon accents, and hand-made elements. It felt playful and personal, like every detail had a story behind it. You could just tell that these two put a lot of themselves into the day, and it paid off big time.
The reception and cocktail hour were in Bok’s old gymnasium, which they completely transformed. Picture vintage basketball hoops above a dance floor, with mismatched vintage decor and even a face-in-hole sign for goofy photos. Sweet Lucy’s BBQ came through with the catering (seriously, best brisket ever), and the party was wild. By the end of the night, everyone was singing at the top of their lungs, completely losing it on the dance floor. Devon and Loden are one of those couples that just fit—they were so natural, so comfortable together, and their wedding was the perfect reflection of that. It wasn’t just a party; it was a celebration of who they are. And honestly? It was awesome to witness.
