Outdoor Summer Wedding at Historic Estate in Valley Forge National Park

     This summer we were lucky enough to photograph a couple very dear to us at their Philander Chase Knox Estate wedding. We first met John and Andrew at Toni and Ben’s beautiful wedding at the Audubon Center last year. We quickly fell in love with Andrew, Toni’s hilarious and passionate brother, and John, his kind and outgoing partner. The more we spoke with them, the more we crossed our fingers that they’d reach out about us photographing their wedding. The rest is history. 

     Fast Forward to June 22nd, 2024 when John and Andrew got to say “I Do” on a warm summer day at the beautiful and historic Philander Chase Knox Estate in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The men got ready separately in the wedding suites before sharing their first look in the sun room. From there, we took advantage of the variety of portrait locations at the estate such as the rolling meadows, classic interior, and greenhouse (which is literally teeming with life.)

     John and Andrew’s ceremony couldn’t have been prettier. Alyssa with Liberty Plants absolutely nailed the florals. The arrangements were compiled of soft pinks and blues with pops of yellow and white, creating a lovely summer color palette. 

     After the ceremony, guests moved to the stone balcony for cocktail hour, which offered a gorgeous view of the ceremony lawn and the surrounding grounds. Andrew, being his usual outgoing self, had everyone laughing in no time, while John’s quiet but passionate nature shone through in the way he took time to connect with everyone around him. If you’ve ever met Andrew and John, you know they’re just that couple – effortlessly themselves and clearly made for each other.

     The Philander Chase Knox Estate wedding reception, set under a large tent with open sides, was the perfect combination of laid-back and elegant. John and Andrew busted into their reception with so much excitement and flair, you couldn’t help but laugh. As the sun set and the night kicked in, the party really came alive. Andrew and John are a couple who bring such joy to everyone they meet, and it was quite clear by all of the hilarious and heartfelt speeches. After dinner, it was game on. The dance floor lit up and became essentially the best party of 2024. We’re so grateful to have been a part of their special moment, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two incredible people.
