We love shooting hybrids, with Super 8 film and HD digital video, because it brings the best of both worlds to wedding films. Super 8 adds a nostalgic, intimate, timeless feel with its grainy textures and warm tones, while digital captures the crisp, vibrant details and dynamic energy of the day (and most importantly, the audio!). Together, they create a film that feels both classic and modern, telling the story with depth and personality. It’s a way to showcase the beauty of fleeting moments while celebrating the vivid, unique atmosphere of each couple’s wedding.
Yasmin and Joe’s wedding in May at Porta in Asbury Park was an absolute blast—a perfect mix of laid-back fun, stylish elegance, and playful personal touches. Yasmin and Joe’s love was evident in every moment, from their heartfelt vows to the laughter shared with family and friends. Their connection was magnetic, setting the tone for a celebration that felt both intimate and exhilarating.
Porta, an Italian restaurant famed for its lively atmosphere and delicious pizzas, set the stage for a celebration that was anything but ordinary. With its vibrant exterior doors providing a colorful backdrop for portraits and disco ball chandeliers hanging in place of traditional lighting, the venue’s vibe is playful and upbeat.
The ceremony was simple yet full of meaning, with Yasmin and Joe exchanging vows in front of their closest friends and family. The florals, bursting with rich hues of blues, purples, and oranges, added an extra layer of vibrancy to the event, complementing the venue’s eclectic décor. Before reuniting with their guests, Yasmin and Joe shared a pizza outside together. We loved this for a number of reasons. One, pizza is amazing. Two, we strongly believe that couples should take some time alone after the ceremony. Wedding days go back very quickly and it’s rare you get that one on one time.
In the blink of an eye the room switched from an intimate ceremony into an all out dance party. Under the sparkling disco balls, the dance floor turned into a total free-for-all, with everyone showing off their best—and worst—moves. From wild spins to impromptu conga lines, it felt like no one wanted to leave the floor. The music kept the energy sky-high, and there wasn’t a single guest sitting out. It was the kind of dance party that left everyone sweaty, smiling, and wishing this Porta wedding would never end.
