Katy and Jared are getting married in two days and we are beyond excited. It’s unusual for us to photograph an engagement session right before someone’s wedding, yet between them living in London and all the weird weather we’ve had this year, we finally decided it would be best to squeeze their session in the week before their wedding. I’m so glad we did. Photographing these two was incredible, as I knew it would be. From our first conversation, it was clear that Katy and Jared really value creativity, authenticity, and having a unique perspective. They were not only trusting of my vision, they were completely open to suggestion. For a couple to be able to play, laugh, be sweet and intimate, to gaze into the camera is unique…it requires an openness from the couple that as a photographer, is difficult to cultivate. It takes open mindedness and a willingness to enjoy the process and to embrace being photographed, to feel emboldened enough to gaze into the camera with true feeling. We always strive to get to this place of love and joy that can actually be recorded by the camera. Thank you Katy and Jared for letting me photograph you with such open hearts.
