Happy New Year!

Hello friends, followers and the newly engaged! Happy New Year. We’re a little late on the wishing, but there’s something about the new year that puts us into overdrive mode organizing and taking care of all of those little tasks that slip into oblivion when we’re in the midst of wedding season. So, thank you for your patience while we regrouped.

2011 was an interesting year for us. We had the opportunity to photograph at some really unique venues, some new and some just new to us (Bonnet Island, Peche, Sweetwater Farm, Appleford, Bellevue, just to name a few). This region has an endless supply of interesting places to photograph, we love that and it keeps us on our toes. We also feel incredibly fortunate to continually have great clients. One word prevails: kindness. We’re grateful to our clients for making this so much fun and best of all, absolutely gratifying.

2011 was also a challenging year since I was on crutches for the latter half of it (Achilles Last Stand). I’m happy to say, I didn’t miss a wedding and very quickly adapted to hopping about on one foot. During this time, Dutch and I hired top photographers to come along and shoot as a “third” photographer. We not only made it through the crisis without missing a beat, I actually think it was some of our best work ever.

The good news is, I welcomed 2012 on two feet. It feels SOOOO great to walk again! I think it’s only appropriate that I stop now and wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year! We can’t wait to get started.

On an end note, Dutch and I enjoyed a lovely snowy holiday in Montana with my family. It was a simple, quiet trip and just what we needed. I grew up on a farm in central Montana and it’s always so peaceful to visit. Here’s a few pictures of the winter wonderland…
