A Kimmel Center Wedding is always a favorite here at Sweetwater. That light streaming through the atrium above the Hamilton Garden makes for gorgeous portraits no matter what time of year, rain or shine. Sara and Chris were lucky to have had one of those unseasonably warm days in late October that were so abundant this fall. It literally felt like summer (sans humidity), the weather was beautiful.

For me, one of the best things about Sara and Chris’s wedding was their calm throughout the entire day. We actually hadn’t met them prior to their wedding day, which is really unusual for us. Usually we’ve had at least one meeting in person and often an engagement session. They were really sweet on the phone and we had a great connection with them, but we were still super excited (relieved) when we met them to find they were just as great in person as we had hoped they would be. I bring this up because personality has a huge affect on the wedding day! Wedding days can be stressful and how you handle that stress means EVERYTHING.

Now. Nothing major went wrong at Sara and Chris’s wedding, not at all!  But the little things can be stressful and they can add up…like the bus driver taking a wrong turn that brings you right back into the middle of a center city traffic jam for a 30 minute delay. Or, more upsetting, a most-detested hate group holding a rally on the street adjacent to where we were doing portraits. Was it distracting? Yes. Was Sara upset? Yes! But what I love about Sara is that she didn’t seem upset that they were ruining her wedding day, she was close to tears because such ignorant, hateful people existed in the word to spread such filth. I’m putting words into Sara’s mouth, but I think we were all feeling about the same on this. Anway, we made a conscience decision to move on and redirect our thoughts and soon enough all of the girls were singing Disney ballads and serenading the groom. And having so. much. fun.

Which leads me to Chris. He’s the epitome of a gentleman. So, so, so nice and calm, and funny These two were classy and cool all day long.

And the way that Sara moved in her dress was poetry.
