Top of The Tower Wedding:
Jeri + John
It couldn’t get much more dramatic than being on the 51th floor balcony of The Top of the Tower just as a storm was passing. We had ominous dark skies to the south slashed with pops of heat lightning, Jeri’s gown was blowing in whispy clouds around her hips and John’s face looked like he just won the lottery. We were surrounded by the Philadelphia skyline reflecting all hues of the storm and saturated pink sunset was glowing behind them. It was just perfection. It was exactly what they wanted.
How gorgeous is Jeri’s mom? They got ready in the bridal suite at The Logan.
This is one of my favorite pictures of the entire day. Look at their smiles and how genuinely ecstatic they are to see Jeri in her gown for the first time. These girls were so much fun. Laughing and tears and singing and dancing all day long.
So we took pictures for maybe 10 minutes at the Rodin Museum and then it started pouring. We sat in the car and John tracked the storm on his weather app. John LOVES weather, he is totally fascinated by it. In fact, you can read more of the story on their sneak peek blog post here, but he was begging for a storm because he knew the sunset would be spectacular afterwards from Top of the Tower. He got just what he wished for and Jeri did not stop smiling once. It was brilliant. We took family pictures indoors while the weather had it’s way and then had gorgeous light for a very quick outdoor session with the bridal party and plenty more of Jeri and John. What luck.
And here is that magic moment that John requested. Rain storm = stellar sunset. We had so much fun photographing up here on the 51st floor, like kids in a candy store. Big thanks to Tim from Allure Films for shining his video light at key moment, leaving Dutch and I free to shoot!
