We could tell a story about each image from Hana and Wes’s wedding at the historic Sylvan Lake Lodge in Custer State Park. It was Hana’s passion, Wes’s thoughtfulness, their family’s generosity and genuineness. It was one of the most spiritual and joyful events we’ve ever photographed.
A few of our favorite moments…
When Wes’s sister Keelia, his “best maid,” told a story of how Wes saved her life when they were younger. Both had swam too far out, tired, and started to drown. Wes went under water to hold his sister up so that she could breathe. Still get glassy-eyed over that, just writing it.
When Hana’s grandparents were asked to take the dance floor in celebration of their 50th anniversary. The magnetism between them was unbelievable. It felt like a gift to witness. Every one in the room could feel it.
When Hana and Wes sang together at their ceremony; their poise and confidence, the strength of their convictions.
When Wes’s dad, a pastor in Uganda, slid across the dance floor on his knees into his wife’s arms.
…Hana and Wes, yours is a wedding that we’ll hold close to our hearts. Thank you for being so uniquely you.
